In hind sight, I can recall all the “great ideas” I had and how I fought against him. How thankful I am for his strength of character to lead us.
Thankfully, although I did not always agree with his way of doing things, I had learned from God to honor him and to allow him to lead. Now, down the road a long ways I can clearly see the fruit of “his way” for our family.
Back in the day, my way seemed more spiritual. But his way, kept our children on the right path and gave them interests to delve into. I would have given them “spiritual” knowledge; he gave them the ability to live spiritually.
So often I see family’s being lead by “spiritual” women; this is not a good thing.
If your husband is not leading it may be because you are intimidating him. Who can stand against a self-pronounced hearer of God’s truth?
Ask the Lord to help you honor your husband, to allow him to lead. Purpose to look on what is good, right and pleasing in your husband. Pray for eyes to see ahead, to see what your children truly need. Then pray to be the wife your husband needs.
