Knowing I had two more children that had never been successful at contracting the chicken pox, we were watching for symptoms at the two week mark. Sure enough, the youngest started feeling feverish and flu like. Within two days she was breaking out in polka dots. It is now the fourth day and it appears her very high fever has finally broken. There is probably another good week of recovery to endure.
What about the boy? Will there be one more round of pox to deal with? Only time will tell, good thing my nursing skills are honed.
There is much said about women being good multi-taskers. Personally, I don’t feel like this is my greatest strength. I do agree, though, with the idea of moms having to wear many hats.
This past month my nursing hat has gotten a lot of wear, but on a normal daily basis it seems my chef and counseling hat get taken out the most. What other hats do moms wear? There is no way I could cover that long of list.
Because I want to remind you moms of your great value, I will list a few: maid, teacher, interior decorator, lover, secretary, coach, activities director, goods importer, fashion designer….
Please, do not minimize your role as a mom. You have the greatest job in the world! You mean the world to your little boy or girl! It is their souls you are shaping by guiding them with God’s word!
