Yesterday morning, I read Matthew 18:35, “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brothers from your heart.” I was reminded of this child’s struggle and prayed she would understand her need to forgive. At church that morning, a verse from Hebrews 8 was on the overhead, it was vs. 12, “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” When I saw that I leaned over to my beauty and said, “See that verse?” She read and with a blank face looked back at me. I leaned over again and whispered, “God wants you to do that too.” Immediately, an “aha” look covered her face and she squeezed my hand.
I am sure this will still be a struggle for this child. Thankfully, the Holy Spirit is involved and with His help I am confident she will gain the victory. What a great Mother’s Day gift to have prayed in the morning and see God moving within just a couple of hours!!
