I stand for life and Truth when it comes to babies and I also stand on the side of life and Truth when it comes to marriage.
Proverbs 14:1 says “The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.” Do you see that we have another stand to take in our homes, pro-life or pro-choice? Do we want to build it up, bring life or tear it down for the sake of defending our choice, our rights?
We have the decision every day to either fight for life or for our own “rights” or choices in our marriage.
Those who want us to prioritize our choice over life will tell us:
--You must stand up for yourself. Women have fought for these rights and you don’t want to be caught in the stone ages, don’t be a doormat.
--You need to educate yourself with up to date literature written by professionals. You can’t really base your life on a 2000 year old book.
--Choice isn’t really killing a marriage; it is giving you power and independence.
Do we see the lies?
If you are pro-life when it comes to your marriage then you must not give into the lies the world is feeding this generation. We must do whatever it takes to rescue our marriages. We cannot let one mistake lead to another and another. We must see the lie and debunk it.
--Jesus never tells us to stand up for our rights, but rather to stand up for what is right. What is right in marriage is: “Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.” Ephesians 5:22
--We are not to be deceived by fine-sounding arguments. We are to know God and not listen to the view point of the world. I John 5: 3-4 “In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”
--Ignoring what damage we are doing to our families by demanding our rights and clinging to our choices doesn’t minimize the damage it is doing. “The mind of the sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans 8: 6
“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.” Phil.1: 9-11
