Did you ever notice the more people have the less they are thankful for and the less people have the more they are thankful for?
My daughter is in Haiti and is continually amazed at how thankful AND giving the people of Haiti are, even though they have so little. She has learned that she too doesn’t need everything she thinks she needs to be happy and thankful either. You may think she is referring to clothes in her closet or electronic devices but she was thinking more about being cool (that means temperature wise) or communicating by speaking the same language.
As parents let’s enjoy this one day of the year to focus on being thankful, by being extremely thankful for those gifts from the Lord, our children!
As we walk through this upcoming season meant to cause us to focus on Christ and His great love for us, but so often buries us in stress and over spending, remember the statement this blog started with.
The more people (children) have the less they are thankful for and the less people (children) have the more they are thankful for.
