This week we are praying for ten minutes out loud. Actually speaking can remind us of the relationship we have with our Lord. Talking can also help keep the mind engaged and safe from wandering. When I pray this way I often find that time flies and there is more I want to talk about. There is even a sense of being sorry I have to go, just like I feel when time is up with a close friend.
Part of our prayer time is to be used to pray for each child, for their specific needs. One mom in our group is pregnant with her first child. I encouraged her to pray for her unborn child and her future, even her future husband and the parents of her future husband.
As moms we can make such a difference through prayer. Praying for our posterity (our descendants and all future generations) is affecting history. We may never know the influence of our prayers, yet, we can be confident God hears and that makes a difference in the heavenly realms.
Oh to be a mother with holes in my jean’s knees because I have spent so much time there praying!
