What better thing to pray than God’s Word?
Today I read chapter one of II Thessalonians. The chapter reminds us that we will suffer and have troubles, we will be persecuted and have trials because of our stand for Christ. The chapter ends with Paul telling the Thessalonians how he is praying for them. I am rewriting it here, with a blank for each “you” in the prayer. We can then insert our child’s name and pray this for him/her.
Verses 11-12:
“With this in mind, we constantly pray for ______, that our God may count ______ worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may fulfill every good purpose of ______ and every act prompted by ______ faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in ______, and ______ in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.” Amen.
(This isn't a perfect transition because it isn't talking to God, so as you pray, tweak it in your heart and mind to personally cry out to our Father in heaven.)
