Your children will melt down, don’t feel like a failure, be prepared.
There is no way to escape the extra sugar, crazy schedule, fun
focus and spoiling. There will be repercussions. Plan on needing a time of retraining when it is all over.
As my husband said tonight, “they can’t handle always getting
what they want, they just want more.”
That goes for everyone. Feed selfishness a little and it grows
exponentially. Try as we may to make this season about giving and remembering what our Savior did for the world, it always seems to have a layer of selfishness that peeks through.
Now we have been warned; enjoy the specialness of this time of
year and embrace the recovery.
On the other side, don’t throw out all routine, keep what you
can, just know, children will be maxed by all the stimulation extended family and extra activities bring.
