evident to me. Todd and JT just returned from Canada. We have experienced weeks of separation before, but this was a week without communication.
A week without cell phone or work calls was just what my man needed. Yet, it was a very long week for me. Not that anything serious went on, I just wanted to connect with him and hear what he was doing. My heart literally ached with the desire to hear from him.
I want to go two directions from here. First, our heavenly Father
wants us desire Him this way. With hearts aching to spend time with Him and to hear from Him. Thankfully He never leaves to go where we cannot talk to Him! Take advantage of this wonderful relationship and bask in presence—because you can!
Secondly, our husbands need us to let them know how much we cherish them. Write a list if you have to but let him know how thankful you are for him. In just one week of absence I was reminded of Todd’s: mowing the lawn, answering our home business questions, dealing with raccoons, tying fishing poles for company, conversing with men when they visit, finding tools when needed, guiding our daughters with future plans, helping with driving, hugging me and bringing security at night.
Even this morning he sat patiently as I shared my week’s worth of
ponderings.
God has given us a wonderful gift in our husbands and fathers of
our children, let him know that today!
