I am confused; why aren’t these parents stopping their offspring from being such a distraction. Then it hits me….they are afraid of her. These parents love Jesus, that is why they are at the worship service, yet, they have no control over their daughter. They know that if they tell her to stop or to sit she will throw a fit, so it easier to let her be than to risk an outburst.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated case. Our churches are full of families that don’t know they can train their children, none-the-less how to train them. Please as you gain vision for training your children, be bold in sharing your experiences and wisdom with others. My desire with both this blog and the book ESP (explain, show and practice) Character Training is to stir families to realize their great calling to train up their children in the way they should go. But, together we can do so much more! God has given us each a realm of influence; we must each do our part.
Be prepared to give an answer if someone asks you a parenting question. Invite younger moms over to spend time with your family or share Bible time with you. Teach, either children or parents, take every opportunity to share what you have learned. Start your own blog or write a newsletter for young moms at your church. Let’s work together to strengthen families, encouraging each other until none of the parents we know are afraid to cross their children, but labor to lead their families confidently.
