I like this idea.
Admittedly, I am attracted to moms like me. But, how much am I missing by writing off anyone that is different than me. Isn’t it insecurity that makes me uncomfortable if others don’t think like me?
God has made us each to have our own place in this world. Our differences allow us to reach different people. Yet, our Christian bond goes beyond personal taste and pet peeves. Actually, God tells me I need to love my brother that I do see or I can’t love God whom I don’t see. (I John 4: 20)
I look forward to this maturing, being able to learn from others and appreciate our differences. It is not that I hate those who have different views; I just don’t feel an attraction. Now, my friend’s words are challenging me to take another perspective and look for the strength God has given each other person that I can glean from. How refreshing.
