Samantha (12) One of the best things to do is Bible time. Now Bible time is a combination of Bible, character and other things. For example we play Mommy says and sing Please Don’t. It is very good for all ages. Also, I think definitions are very important, like: HONESTY—telling the truth even when it is hard. A Bible verse that goes with that is Numbers 32:23 “Be sure your sin will find you out.” A series of books I recommend are Polite Moments and the Millers series. Another thing I think is really good is room time; room time is especially good for younger children because it is a time that they have to entertain themselves.
I do not remember a lot about our parents training me, but I do remember mom training my younger sister. We would all get on our blankets and Mom would touch each side of the blanket and say “no touch”. I think that was very good because it kept our attention on Mom. One more thing, we did exercise and singing at the beginning of Bible time.
Megan (10) Moms definitely need to do Bible time. Bible time is when Mommy reads the Bible and explains it and then we go over Polite Moments and How to Recognize a Fool. I recommend blanket time because then we know we must listen to Mommy. Every parent should discipline; it produces better obedience and gives children a better relationship with their parents.
I asked her another question, “Why do your parents discipline you?”
Megan answered, “My parents want us to obey and they want to give us a better future. Discipline helps us obey. My parents love us and they don’t want us to repeat the mistakes. Our parents have to discipline because God tells them to and otherwise we would be wild.
